Thyristor rectifiers are used in drive systems with energy recovery to convert three-phase AC voltage to DC voltage. They contain two counter-parallel 6-pulse thyristor bridges and provide the possibility of energy recovery into the network, contributing to significant energy savings in systems with very high braking capacities.
